COURSE CONTENT

This 6-module email course will provide information, advice and the necessary tools on every aspect of cash flow management.

Module 1: Cashflow defined

The concepts of turnover, profit, and cash flow all have a profound effect on the success or lack of success of a business. It is, therefore, important to understand the potential impact on your business. One often hears business owners and entrepreneurs talk about how few sales they need in order to generate a lot of money, but in many instances, they don't realise how much cash must be reinvested into the business or how long it could take to collect all the money they're owed.

Module 2: Planning your cashflow

When you are out of cash, you are out of business. Planning and managing are, therefore, two of the key aspects you need to have in place before you welcome your first customer through your doors. This activity, if done correctly, could dramatically enhance the financial performance of your business.

Module 3: Managing your cashflow

At its simplest, cash flow management means ensuring cash flows into your business faster than it flows out. To give us an overview of the various cash flow points in a business, I have developed a diagram depicting it and will use it to highlight the various strategies covered in the course.

Module 4: Keeping costs under control

Every business incurs expenses. The trick to healthy cashflow is not knowing only how to make money, but to know what you are spending your money on and where you can make savings.

Module 5: Reading the numbers

A company’s balance sheet and income statements are “Report Cards” on the financial performance of the business, but the bottom line is not the only important figure. Cashflow is vital.

Module 6: Making cash flow personal

We cannot look at financial management without also investing some time to explore a few “good habits” of personal financial management.

How this course will be delivered
