What kind of letters do you write to yourself? In 1969, a 28-year-old Bruce Lee found himself struggling financially with bit-parts in TV shows when his second child was born. The final blow came when his new TV show, “The Green Hornet” where he played “Kato” only lasted one season.

So he wrote himself a letter.

Titled “My Definite Chief Aim” he wrote:

"I, Bruce Lee, will be the first highest paid Oriental super star in the United States. In return I will give the most exciting performances and render the best of quality in the capacity of an actor. Starting 1970 I will achieve world fame and from then onward till the end of 1980 I will have in my possession $10,000,000. I will live the way I please and achieve inner harmony and happiness."

A year later, he headed to Hong Kong to find that “The Green Hornet” had become a runaway success there and was known as “The Kato Show”. The Hong Kong studios fought for him and he led a string of hits from “Fist of Fury” to “Way of the Dragon”, which then led to Warner Bros giving him the chance to star in his own Hollywood blockbuster, “Enter the Dragon.”

Bruce achieved everything he wrote, before his early death at 32 years old - just 4 years after writing his letter.

If you haven’t written your own letter yet, why not write it now?
