Pachamama Alliance helped Ecuador to become the 1st country to declare Nature Rights - Nature's equivalent of Human Rights. This has led to more countries following, including New Zealand which has given the Whanganui River the same legal rights as a person, and India which has done the same with the Ganges and Yamuna rivers. This means local villages can take large corporations to court for damaging them.
2018 is the 70th Anniversary of the UN Declaration of Human Rights. Isn't it time our trees and animals have rights too?
