5 years ago, Alison Lalieu founded her coaching company UBalancer but didn’t she didn’t really know how she was going to grow her business. Today, UBalancer Solutions has a strong team of specialist coaches and has grown exponentially in the last 2 years.

How did Alison get clear on her niche, and build a strong team to grow her business of cutting edge NeuroCoaches?

“UBalancer was formed 5 years ago. I knew that I wanted to be a part of the movement of intuitive, sustainable caring and connected leadership - leaders of companies across the board are becoming exhausted by the VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous) environment they face; burnout is common and many leaders are role modeling the resultant overwhelm to people in their companies. As a coach network, we help leaders make a “leadershift” - to become more effective through growing their  emotional intelligence. We’re supercharging thriving, transformational leadership.”

UBalancer is a network of specialist executive NeuroCoaches with a passion for Emotional Intelligence coaching, based in Australia and New Zealand. The company really started growing 2 years ago, at the same time that Alison decided to become a Flow Consultant.

“A coach I know based in Sydney, called me and said, ‘There’s this guy coming to Brisbane, I’ve been to his iLab and I think you should come along and listen’. I went to Roger James Hamilton’s event, and a lot of what he was saying resonated with me.

I decided to go on to become a Flow Consultant and started thinking about how I could infuse Flow Consultancy into what we do at UBalancer Solutions. Talent Dynamics is now use as one of our main profiling tools.

The first time I went to Fast Forward Your Business, there was just myself at the head of my company and a few coaches working around me. My realisation was that I needed to scale up a bit. I found out I was a Creator profile, and it was the biggest relief in the world! I had always really struggled with spreadsheets, and now recognised that I’d benefit by getting a Supporter profile on my leadership team, as well as someone with high Steel energy to manage our systems.

2 years ago I excitedly welcomed my eldest daughter (who is a Supporter) to the team, and another of our consultant NeuroCoaches (an accountant, very high in Steel) naturally emerged and said she wanted to come on board. That was 6 months ago. We noticed this incredible shift in our leadership energy - she’s brought systems we never would have thought possible. With this strong triad of leaders, it’s been so much easier to grow our business.”

With great tools and a fantastic team in place, Alison continues to grow UBalancer Solutions and is now an Entrepreneurs Institute partner in Australia.

“There are NeuroCoaches in our network now who are training as Flow Consultants too. I recently came back from Wealth Dynamics Masters in Bali which was a fantastic 5 days for me to think about UBalancer’s strategic direction and growth. We’re being recognised for excellence in the work we do and I was considering how can we make another great shift to become better known?

One client we’re working with is a large Corporate that is passionate about sustainability. They’re now introducing programs in alignment with that passion, while making global decisions. They are now experiencing significantly more financial success. We’re trying to educate people that they don’t have to trade doing well as a company, to doing something positive in the world. Part of this is also people understanding their Talent Dynamics Profile, so they can find their flow by tapping into what they’re good at, and build stronger teams.

We’re trying to help leaders gear up for a world that we don’t see clearly yet - we don’t really know what the future looks like. What we do need is to get our brains to a state where we’re comfortable with change - so at UBalancer Solutions we focus on emotional intelligence coaching.

We’re edgy because we use an innovative blend of coaching techniques, bring science to the art of coaching and Talent Dynamics into the mix. We’re not a big consultancy, and our unique agility and the talent/passion we bring to the table is exciting.”
