Do you have a story worth telling?

Think of the people you most look up to. Think of the companies you most admire. Each-has a founding story, which set them on their journey. What’s your founding story?

I made this video this week to explain why this is so important:

What’s your founding story <<

I was in London this week on a flying visit. Only last week, the country was divided by the elections. On the weekend, everyone was united and commemorating VE Day – the 70th Anniversary of Victory in Europe.

In this video from Parliament Square, there was celebrations going on, led by the Queen and her Royal Guards. I made this video in the middle of it to share the key to building a lasting business and a lasting legacy. It begins with your culture and what you stand for, and that begins with your founding story. What’s yours?

Watch to see – do you have a story worth telling? <<

When you have a founding story, it gives your team, your customers and your partners a sense of history – of the future being written as well as the past where it all began. It gives you something to remember and remind yourself of collectively each year that unites you and drives you forward together.

I have a live webinar coming up this week where I will be talking about “the 3 unexpected things I learned with Richard Branson”. He hasn’t just started one business that runs on its own, but over 300 businesses – all with the same founding story. I’ll be sharing three things I haven’t shared before on what I learned in my week with him. I hope you can join us!
