2019 was a special year for many reasons, one of which was the honor of meeting Maren. I first met Maren at an Entrepreneur Institute event we attended to learn about how to grow our businesses by understanding and leveraging our natural geniuses and energies. Although I am usually uncomfortable in meeting new people at events, Maren approached me and immediately made me feel at ease speaking with her. She was very warm and sincere in getting to know me which made it easy to open up and engage in meaningful conversations very quickly.

When Maren mentioned she had a dance studio and used dance as a metaphor for how people interact with each other and with life in general, I realized why it was easy to communicate, share experiences and learn from one another. We began to waltz together down the pathway of learning more about entrepreneurship and the impact of understanding the power of knowing and understanding one’s natural geniuses. I now use Maren’s dance metaphor while coaching business leadership teams on how to improve performance by building trust in self and in others in much the same way dancers build mutual trust partners. In business and life we sometimes step on each other’s toes until we learn how to engage and trust the natural energies and talents of our partner’s, friends and business teams.

Later in the year, I was lucky enough to travel with Maren and other entrepreneurs on a Journey of Lights through India, Nepal and Tibet. It was on this journey that Maren and I had a chance to “dance” with life even more deeply, both literally and figuratively. While on the journey we learned how to dance Bollywood style. Then Maren put on her dance instructor shoes and taught our group how to actually waltz together. She was an amazing instructor and through dance, she taught us how to trust in ourselves and build trust with our partners by learning how to synchronize and anticipate each others movements. She demonstrated how important it is for both partners to maintain a solid frame so we work as one and flow together achieving more than if we acted on our own or tried to control the other. I now use experience as a perfect example to illustrate why leaders must uncover and utilize each person’s natural energies. When leaders consciously choose teams, they create a solid framework upon which the business can grow and achieve to greater results more efficiently by trusting in each other’s natural energies as they “dance” together as ONE team.

The reason I resonate so well and have learned so much from Maren is because she is truly genuine and a natural teacher as lives in her flow. I am honored to be able to call her my friend.

Wow, Maren taught me to Tango! Didn't know that was possible particularly for someone who can't clap in time. but, what is truly amazing is Maren's patience and awareness and enables her to remain calm in difficult situations, such as being stuck in China with no exit visa. Throughout the process Maren remained calm and centered. I am not surprised that, this together with her warm and kind demeanor and passion for dance, has an extremely successful dance studio.

Maren is a warm, yet no-nonsense ballroom instructor and business woman who has built her business into a green level enterprise with steady dedication and integrity. I've had the privilege to connect with her over Roger's Journey of Lights trip to India/Nepal/Tibet where she taught our group how to tango during the trip. She was able to easily break down the steps in such a way that it made it easy to learn. I recommend Maren for any of your ballroom dancing needs and as a mentor!
