Remote work for women: Women are more likely to want to work remotely, but they're less likely to be given the option...

The benefits of remote work for women

Women in remote work face plenty of the same issues as women in a typical office, including the very real gender pay gap that exists no matter where you work. But working remotely creates a unique set of circumstances—good, bad, and just different—that affect women's professional experiences.Zapier recently...

Fortunately, as entrepreneurism takes hold, these issues with inequality within the system will become less prevalent and value of service will determine success as people earn based on the value they give rather than based on an arbitrary number established by a company. The internet is the great equalizer.

Yes that was my experience once when I tried to work from home to complete my maternity leave since I did not have enough leave built up (I only had 2-3 weeks due to having to take leave with my second child who began having seizures instead of a full 6 when the doctors release you to be able to go back to work here in the USA) I was working for an agency in the federal government then and they would not allow me to do so even though i had already spoken to other departments in our office and had work lined up that I could do. We need to do better and work with people, especially when they are willing to put in the work. I think that things may change with COVID and with some companies seeing how much they can save by having people work remotely at least part of the time.

Are you ready for "algorithm-driven recruiting procedures"? Or would you rather find a way out?

There's a new obstacle to landing a job after college: Getting approved by AI

College career centers used to prepare students for job interviews by helping them learn how to dress appropriately or write a standout cover letter. These days, they're also trying to brace students for a stark new reality: They may be vetted for jobs in part by artificial intelligence.

I created a new interview series where I interview people who not only discovered their ideal career, but also have a positive impact on the world... while often working remotely. In less than 10 minutes, they will tell you their best tips on how they discovered their career, so you can do the same.

I find a real benefit of co-working spaces is that create routine and reason to leave the house, plus social interaction. Though full time isn't for me. Just a few hours a day does the trick!
