I love having home grown food, and would love to have help. I've often thought if hiring someone when I have the money, and I keep thinking of economic inequality. Like, is paying someone only $15-20 reinforcing the classist nature of our society?

I think paying someone in relation to the skill of the job is fine.

I agree with that to a point. But if we didn't have janitorial staff at hospitals, things would be unhygienic, so they are vital to the service being offered. So, should we pay based on skill or the value of the service?

Having just harvested the olives here in Italy, going through the process from tree to table, I was reminded of the community aspect of working the land, we work together, eat together and we share the olive oil at the end. This opportunity, where a group of people come together to focus on one goal, connects back to the traditions of the land where the only money that exchanged hands was for the pressing of the olives. This is truly a beautiful gift, to remember the forgotten art of giving and receiving in harmony with the eco-system we are all part of.

Hi Tina! This tracker tracks the number of children who have achieved proficiency in reading and mathematics - from the UN global statistics available on their UNSDG websites - the trend in growth is extrapolated from the data which comes from 2014-2017 - so it's an algorithm based on real data :)
