This course is held at Pakistan Military academy in this course students will go through different processes in which they will learn about different things like war tracts, war surviving, weapon assembling etc.  Candidates can apply for this course after intermediate or during intermediate when their 1^st year result is announced and they are in result awaiting status. Only the students having minimum 60 percent marks are eligible to apply for this course. The candidate should also be fit otherwise he would be rejected during medical steps.

Below we will briefly discuss about the selection and different procedures through which students go through when they apply for this course.

QUALIFICATION: Students having intermediate degree with minimum 60 percent marks are eligible to apply while students having 2 years graduation degree and serving Pakistan army or navy are also eligible to apply.

GENDER: Only male candidates are eligible to apply for this course.

AGE: The age of the student having intermediate degree should be 17 years to 22 years, the age of 2 years graduation holders and serving Pakistan army should be 17 years to 24 years while the soldiers who are currently serving in Pakistan army should have age between 17 to 25 years.

NATIONALITY: Pakistani nationals having the citizenship of any province including Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir are eligible to apply while the candidates having dual nationality had to surrender nationality of the other country after selection.

MARTIAL STATUS: Fresh candidates should be unmarried but candidates serving Pakistan army who are married and have age over 20 years are also eligible to apply.

PHYSICAL CONDITIONS: Height of every candidate applying for this course should be 5 feet 4 inches in addition to this his eyesight should also be according to the required criteria.

WEIGHT: The weight of the candidate should be according to the body structure.

APPLYING ONLINE: Candidates can apply online for this course at the offical site of Pak army .after applying their roll number slips and test centers will be given to them.

SELECTION PROCESS: Following are steps for selection of candidates:

WRITTEN TEST: The student appears in test in which the subjects that are included are English, Maths, Pak studies, Islamiat and General Knowledge this test is based on multiple choice questions. When candidate qualify this test they go for physical and medical tests at respective place.

PHYSICAL TEST: Physical test comprises of:

• 6 KM running task in 8 minutes.
• Push up in 2 minutes (15 repetitions).
• Chin up in 2 minutes (3 repetitions).
• Sit up in 2 minutes (20 repetitions).
• Ditch crossing through 7’.4’’ x 7’.4’’ and 4’ deep.

ISSB SELECTION: Selected candidates further go for ISSB selection. 

Five days schedule is given to candidates for ISSB selection. We can say that the main ISSB is major part of selection if candidate is rejected in ISSB he cannot proceed further. The schedule of ISSB is as follows:

1. Screening Test

2.Psychological Test

3. Grouping testing officers test

4. Interview

PMA long course is for students having qualification of intermediate students go for this course after selection. Purpose of PMA long course is to train candidates so that thy can work for Pakistan Army.
